Myers Internet Services, Inc., a leading Internet presence provider to the mortgage industry, announced today one of its premier Web sites, BestRate.com, has registered three hundred companies and now boasts a database of over 8,000 rate quotes. This makes the site one of the largest, live mortgage rate databases on the Internet.

Free to both consumers and lenders, BestRate.com is a state-of-the-art database that allows consumers to shop for mortgage rates nationwide on up to 14 different loan programs, and it enables lenders to post and easily update rates via a Web browser The program that serves as your front end to the Web on the Internet. In order to view a site, you type its address (URL) into the browser's Location field; for example, www.computerlanguage.com, and the home page of that site is downloaded to you. .  Myer, traffic to the BestRate site has increased over 800 percent in the past six months, and it currently receives 4,000 unique visitors A count of how many different people access a Web site. In a survey conducted by Myers for Mortgage Banking magazine in January 1998, it was revealed that companies that posted their rates on the Internet did an average of 600 percent more business compared to those that did not.

Sean Marsh, vice president of marketing for Access National Mortgage said, "We've been with BestRate from the beginning and in the last nine months we've seen a tripling of Web traffic to our site. In fact, I'd say Web traffic is ten times what it was two years ago."
