But the bad news for fans is that this second series of Anna's life-afterdeath adventures is destined to be the last, as the hit show will be pushing up daisies itself by the end of it. Series one got off to some great reviews on both sides of the Atlantic and was nominated for a stonking 12 Emmy Awards, carrying off three of them. But US ratings for series two started to fade after its October re-launch and, by Christmas, makers ABC decided not to go beyond the first 13 episodes. Series one was cut short too with only nine of the projected 22 episodes actually getting made, due to the long-running Hollywood writers' strike. So, fans will have to make the most of what they've got, starting with an episode called Bzzzzzzzzzz! (that's 10 Zs in there) in which Chuck (Anna's investigative ghost character In playwriting, a ghost character is a character that is mentioned as appearing on stage but neither says nor does anything but enter, and possibly exit. They are generally seen as editing mistakes. ) poses as a Bee Girl at a company selling honey-based cosmetics after their 'spokes-model' (guest star Autumn Reeser Autumn Alicia Reeser (born September 21, 1980) is an American actress. She is perhaps best known for playing Taylor Townsend on the Fox series The O.C.. Biography Personal life ) is stung to death. Chuck soon discovers that the office politics are deadly serious - literally - between company founder Betty Bee (Missi Pyle) and new owner Woolsey Nicholls, played by French Stewart Milton French Stewart (born on February 20, 1964) is an American actor, best known for his role as Harry Solomon on the 1990s sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun. - still fondly remembered as eccentric alien Harry in 90s sitcom 3rd Rock From The Sun. Over the season, the relationship between Chuck and Ned (Lee Pace) the man whose charmed touch brought her back to life, begins to change as Chuck yearns for more independence and moves out of Ned's apartment - against Ned's wishes. And series stalwart Olive Snook (Kristin Chenoweth), the waitress at Ned's Pie Hole with the loaded gun of secrets, cracks under the pressure of keeping the deep, dark secret of Chuck's eyepatch-wearing, drinks willing Aunt Lily (Swoosie Kurtz). The secret is that Lily is actually Chuck's mother, and Olive runs off to a nunnery rather than divulge it. Digby the dog gets a new friend when Pigby, a truffle-hunting sow, moves in. And the sudden appearance of mysterious Dwight Dixon (recurring guest star Stephen Root), who is an old friend of Ned and Chuck's fathers, spells trouble for everyone.
