The limited-edition guide is available through June 30 exclusively to new customers who open a Best of the West Checking Account with direct deposit and also obtain a debit card debit card, card that allows the cost of goods or services that are purchased to be deducted directly from the purchaser's checking account. They can also be used at automated teller machines for withdrawing cash from the user's checking account. .

"The time was right to make a product offer of a free, interest-bearing checking account with an attractive yield," said Andy Harmening, Senior Executive Vice President and head of Bank of the West's Retail Banking Group. Harmening pointed out that the campaign also features promotions on bundled offerings, including money management, lending and payments products.

The guide is designed to help people discover the regions of the West and the communities Bank of the West serves, to find entertainment, family fun and adventures. With spectacular color images of the West by more than 80 photographers, the guide is conveniently divided into six sections where Bank of the West has branch locations: Northern and Central California Central California can refer to one of several divisions or regions of the U.S state of California:

The Best of the West guide highlights a number of Bank of the West-sponsored events, including the world's oldest women-only tennis tournament the Bank of the West Classic The Bank of the West Classic is a tennis tournament on the WTA Tour held in Stanford, California, United States. The 2007 event will be held from July 23 to July 29. Held since 1971, the tournament is played on outdoor hardcourts.  at Stanford University, the Bank of the West Celebrates America Rock Concert in Omaha, the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee The Sacramento Jazz Jubilee is held every May during Memorial Day weekend in Sacramento, California, United States.
