Judged by a joint team of Bio-IT World and Health-IT World magazine editors and leading industry experts, Best of Show Awards recognize new products which demonstrate exceptional technology innovations across the life sciences drug discovery process, healthcare management and outcomes-based medicine.

The following winners were selected among 12 finalists across four technology categories. Products were chosen based on technical merit, functionality and innovation, and in-person presentations to the judges at the show.

Bio-IT World Conference + Expo is the industry's premier event that showcases how technology is transforming life sciences throughout all discovery and development processes. It takes place at Boston's Hynes Convention Center from March 30 through today. This year's event included thousands of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, government and life science professionals, 85 exhibiting companies, and dozens of conference sessions and workshops. For the first time this year, the conference was co-located with Health-IT World Conference + Expo, a new event that addresses IT in healthcare management and outcomes-based medicine.

In addition to the award winners, the editors of Bio-IT World and Health-IT World also presented three Editors' Recognition Awards to companies with products within two new award categories: Health IT Infrastructure and Health Informatics Health informatics or medical informatics is the intersection of information science, computer science and health care. It deals with the resources, devices and methods required to optimize the acquisition, storage, retrieval and use of information in health and biomedicine. . Since these are new categories and the number of qualified entries for this year did not meet the minimum requirement for Best of Show Award winners, the editors wished to formally recognize the innovation embodied in their entries, as well as the quality of the products.
