Added Functionality for Professional Services Firms

Best Software Specialty Products, a subsidiary of Best Software U.S. Operations, today announced the release of Carpe Diem(R) Electronic Time Sheet 4.1, a service-oriented time and expense tracking system for the corporate enterprise.

Carpe Diem is ideal for professional services firms, and can be accessed and administered from anywhere with a modem or network connection.

Designed to provide users with added portability, Carpe Diem allows business travelers and employees at satellite offices to synchronize their data with the home office quickly and easily. Carpe Diem 4.1's new Site Synchronizer enables network administrators to set up workgroups or small branch offices that synchronize their time with the home office without the need for an off-site administrator.

Carpe Diem 4.1 also offers significant enhancements to the product's already robust platform, including:

-- The addition of SmarTimers(TM) for CDWeb, Carpe Diem's Web browser interface
for existing Carpe Diem customers. SmarTimers, which will be sold as a
stand-alone product for new customers, allows users to electronically track
time while they work, rather than inputting all time data at the end of the
day.

-- Additional reports previously available only in Carpe Diem's Windows
products.

-- Enhancements to CDWeb's reporting capabilities, including the addition of
Print Selected Entries (Time and Services Report) and Snapshot Report. A Web
version of the Report Assistant has also been added, allowing users to create
and modify report templates.

-- Support for temporary IDs.
