LOS ANGELES--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Nov. 10, 1999--

The Eagles' "Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975" is the best selling album of the 20th century, being certified 26-times platinum (26 million sold) by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America, Washington, DC, www.riaa.com) A membership association of music recording companies. Its goal is to promote the record label industry and protect the rights of copyright owners. It was a major contributor to the SDMI digital distribution system. ). The greatest hits album was released in 1977 and reached the 26-million certification plateau in November, 1999.

The RIAA also certified The Eagles' "Hotel California" for U.S. sales of 15 million and "Greatest Hits Volume 2" at 9 million units. Worldwide, the multi-grammy award winning Eagles have sold more than 100 million albums and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
