Best Places to View TallShips(R)LA Grand Parade of Sail.


SAN PEDRO, Calif. -- A grand procession of majestic tall ships will parade down the Port of Los Angeles The Port of Los Angeles is located on San Pedro Bay in the San Pedro neighborhood of Los Angeles, approximately 20 miles (30 km) south of downtown. Also called Los Angeles Harbor and WORLDPORT LA  Main Channel on Thursday, August 11, to kick off TallShips(R)LA. The vessels will assemble near Point Fermin at 10 a.m. and sail down the Main Channel from 11 a.m. - 12 noon. In addition to the tall ships, participating vessels include LAFD LAFD Los Angeles Fire Department
LAFD Los Alamos Fire Department
LAFD London Association of Funeral Directors (UK) 
 fireboats, a U.S. Coast Guard Cutter cutter, small, one-masted sailing vessel, with a rig similar to that of a sloop except that it usually has a sliding bowsprit and a topmast. From 1800 to 1830 cutters were in service between England and France.  and more!

--Ports O' Call Village - Enter from 6th Street and Harbor Blvd.

--S.S. Lane Victory - Berth 94 in San Pedro, adjacent to the World Cruise Center in San Pedro (there is a $3.00 per-person charge to visit)

--Cruise Ship Promenade - Harbor Blvd. and Swinford St.

--Point Fermin - South Gaffey Street at Paseo del Mar Del Mar is the name of several places in the United States of America:

TallShips(R)LA will continue throughout the weekend at the Port of Los Angeles. Highlights include food and activity booths, free dockside vessel tours and purchased day sail adventures on selected ships. Free parking is available at Ports O' Call Village, 22nd Street and Miner and 1st Street and Harbor Blvd. signal. Shuttle buses will be available to transport visitors from the parking lots to the event locations. Visitors may choose to ride the Red Car free of charge to the event locations.
