Best Buy to Sell New Everex eXplora Desktop Featuring PC-TEL HSP Modem; Modem-Equipped Desktop Marks Everex' Re-entry Into Retail Channel.


MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug 17, 1998--PC-TEL Inc. Monday announced that Best Buy will begin selling Everex Systems Inc.'s eXplora personal desktop system.

The system will be shipping with a full-featured, dual mode, 56K modem based on PC-TEL's patented Host Signal Processing Host Signal Processing (HSP) is a term used in computing to describe hardware such as a modem which is emulated (to various degrees) in software.  (HSP (Hosting Service Provider) An organization that specializes in hosting Web sites. The new modem will provide Everex users full 56K data, fax and voice communications capability.
