) the nation's leading specialty retailer of consumer electronics, personal computers, appliances and entertainment software announced lease signings of three new stores in New York New York, state, United States

"Best Buy plans to turn on the fun for New York and Hudson Valley-area shoppers by showing consumers how technology can improve their lives," said Pat Matre, Best Buy vice president of Real Estate. "We look forward to providing the area with affordable, high-tech consumer electronics and entertainment products in a shopping atmosphere that is easy and fun."

The 45,000 square foot stores will feature a broad selection of name-brand products. Customers can experience many products, including the latest in digital technology, through hands-on displays. For easy shopping, merchandise will be grouped in departments such as Home Theater An audio/video entertainment center that has a large-screen TV and hi-fi system with three speakers in the front (left, right and center) and left and right speakers in the rear. Starting in the early 1990s, video inputs were added to stereo receivers and preamplifiers.  and Digital Imaging.

The five New York and New Jersey stores are included in more than 60 new retail locations Best Buy will open throughout the country in 2001 and part of a planned 40 stores in the New York market by 2004. Best Buy entered the New York/ New Jersey market in fall 2000 with 15 stores.

Each store will employ approximately 150 full- and part-time employees in cashier CASHIER. An officer of a moneyed institution, who is entitled by virtue of his office to take care of the cash or money of such institution.
