Best Buy Launches Micronpc.com Millennia Series Performance PC in Time for Holidays; Micronpc.com and Best Buy First to Offer AMD Athlon Combined with DDR Memory in Retail.

In a move that highlights one of the best features of the retail-direct relationship forged earlier this year between Best Buy Co., Inc., and Micron Electronics, Inc., (Nasdaq:MUEI), the companies this week will be first-to-market in the retail space with a performance PC that features the hottest, fastest technology available -- the AMD (Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, www.amd.com) A major manufacturer of semiconductor devices including x86-compatible CPUs, embedded processors, flash memories, programmable logic devices and networking chips.  Athlon processor with the new memory technology known as Double Data Rate (DDR (Double Data Rate) Refers to an SDRAM memory chip that increases performance by doubling the effective data rate of the frontside bus. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock.
