Bessemer Donating Television Time to Equine Charities.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 2001

Bessemer Trust Company N.A. has announced that it will donate approximately 30 spots of national television time to three equine related charities.

The availability of the television spots represents a portion of Bessemer's recently announced sponsorship of the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships.

Beneficiaries of this portion of Bessemer's television time will be the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation, the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, and the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association.

The television spots will appear on CBS, ESPN, and ESPN 2 between now and October 2001.

Grayson-Jockey Club provides funding for scientific/veterinary research specifically aimed at improving the health and safety of horses and has contributed some $9 million to more than two dozen universities in the last two decades.

The Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation operates a network of facilities to care for and arrange for adoption of retired race horses.

The North American Riding for the Handicapped Association reverses the theme of people helping horses. In this organization, horses help people, providing stimulating and joyful activities for children whose physical conditions preclude participation in many sports and games.
