Bertucci's announces senior-level changes; Founder/CEO Joey Crugnale emphasizes opportunity to increase growth.


WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 5, 1995--Bertucci's Inc. announced the resignation of vice president/operations George Carey, 36, and the departure, by mutual agreement, of chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The officer of a firm responsible for day-to-day management, usually the president or an executive vice-president.
 Howard Gevertz, 48, effective today.

Founder/CEO Joey Crugnale has assumed the COO role, a position he formerly held. A search is underway for Carey's replacement.

"Bertucci's has a strong, new emphasis on positioning and promotion, and these senior-level changes present opportunities to enhance our efforts," said Crugnale. "I'm excited about resuming my role as COO and moving forward with a leadership team that will focus on these efforts."

Separately, Bertucci's indicated that first quarter earnings (scheduled to be released on May 15, 1995) will be below analyst expectations of $0.17 to $0.19 per share.
