The Berthiaume Syndicate is pleased to announce the discovery of a new gold-bearing mineralized min·er·al·ize v. min·er·al·ized, min·er·al·iz·ing, min·er·al·iz·es v.tr. 1. To convert to a mineral substance; petrify. 2. To transform a metal into a mineral by oxidation. 3. zone in the Noyelles township, northwest of Lebel-sur-Quevillon, in the Abitibi region of Quebec. Following a prospecting program with the BeepMat, some twenty chosen samples were retrieved from a bedded horizon of chert chert: see flint. and magnetite and mineralized with sulfides (pyrrhotite and arsenopyrite arsenopyrite (är'sĭnōpī`rīt, ärsĕn`ō–) or mispickel (mĭs`pĭkəl), silver-white to steel-gray mineral with the metallic luster characteristic of a pyrite. ). Nine of the samples assayed between 1.0 and 16.0 g/t Au. Identified over a minimum length of 200 meters and widths varying from 3.0 to 8.0 meters, this horizon is part of an iron formation which extends over some 4 kilometers in length. The Noyelles property is located some 15 kilometers west of the Berthiaume property where the Syndicate has been active since November 1995 on gold showings related to iron formation. The best results obtained on this latter property are 9.0 g/t Au over 3 meters from surface sampling and 7.3 and 18.0 g/t Au over 8.2 and 2.0 meters respectively from drilling. The work program recently completed on the two properties has identified a number of gold-bearing showings associated with iron formation. A program of stripping and drilling on this new discovery will begin in a few weeks. GeoNova Exploration Inc.
