Berries to perform Nobel gig.


THE Cranberries will play their first live gig in more than two years at December's Nobel Peace Prize The Nobel Peace Prize (Swedish and Norwegian: Nobels fredspris) is the name of one of five Nobel Prizes bequeathed by the Swedish industrialist and inventor Alfred Nobel.  awards ceremony.

The gig in Norway will mark a welcome return for the band whose last tour was badly hit by singer Dolores Dolores (or Delores) was a common given name (until the 1960s in the USA); it is cognate with the English word "dolorous" (meaning sorrowful) and equivalent in meaning.  O'Riordan's health problems.

Dates on their 1996 world tour to promote the eight million-selling To The Faithful Departed LP had to be cancelled.

This came amid growing concern for O'Riordan's then weight loss and pictures that appeared of her looking painfully thin.

"That was due to stress and overwork overwork

," said a band spokeswoman.

"Dolores is in great shape now. She had a baby and the band have been working on the new album ever since."

She added: "The album was finished a few weeks ago and they are very happy with it.

"They are still deciding on titles but are hoping to release it by July."

The band will appear at the Nobel bash alongside Alanis Morissette and Norwegian group A-Ha.

Although no dates have been arranged, a full UK tour is set to hit the road around August.
