Coauthor Darrell Dawsey skillfully manages to capture the nuance of Bernie Mac's persona--in both his comic timing and unique dialect--in a memoir that reads like the comedian's trademark stand-up routine. The writers spice up the timeline by including several amusing and off-color conversations between Mac and his friends and family to illustrate Bernie's perspective on life.

Those readers who are unfamiliar with Bernie's style and language may find this book difficult to read. He uses profanity Irreverence towards sacred things; particularly, an irreverent or blasphemous use of the name of God. Vulgar, irreverent, or coarse language.

The use of certain profane or obscene language on the radio or television is a federal offense, but in other situations, profanity
 liberally throughout the book. And if you haven't heard him perform, you may not be able to understand his Bernie Mac-speak on the printed page. However, those who know and love Mac's brand of humor will enjoy I Ain't Scared of You.
