Katherine Lee Bernet and Cody Lee Coates were united in marriage on May 31, 2008, at St. George's in the Pines Church in Banff, Alberta, Canada. The double- ring ceremony was officiated by Rev. Warren Weibe and Rev. George Belcher.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Philip Bernet III of Katy, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Melvin Puls and the late Robert Herman Crowder of Columbus and Dr. and Mrs. Carl Philip Bernet Jr. of Greenwood.

The groom is the son of Mr. Vernon Coates of Creston, British Columbia Creston is a town of approximately 5,000 people in the Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia, Canada. The town is located just a few kilometers north of the Porthill, Idaho border crossing into the United States and about a three-hour drive north from Spokane, , Canada. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Coates of Creston, British Columbia, and Ms. Freda Coates of Calgary, Alberta.

The flower girls, Mackenna Hill and Brynn Hill, wore ivory Strasburg lace dresses and carried hot pink tea roses.

The groom's best man was Andrew Martin Woods. Groomsmen were Carl Philip Bernet IV, Geordan Lee Hoag, and Michael Robert Audette-Longo.

The bride's mother, Vicki Crowder Bernet, read scripture chosen by the couple.

Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at Banff Park Lodge Resort that included dinner and dancing. Kati and Cody surprised family and guests with a movie made by the groom featuring the couple's separate childhood experiences and also their history together.

The couple honeymooned in the Dominican Republic.
