Bernard Liautaud Joins MySQL Board of Directors; Business Objects Founder and CEO Brings Additional Enterprise Software & International Expertise to Open Source Database Leader.

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- MySQL AB, developer of the world's most popular open source database, today announced that Bernard Liautaud, chairman and chief executive officer of Business Objects (Nasdaq:BOBJ)(Euronext Paris ISIN code:FR0004026250-BOB), has joined its board of directors.

Liautaud is one of the most highly respected software executives in Silicon Valley and Europe. He co-founded Business Objects in 1990 and has built it into a nearly $900 million enterprise software vendor with more than 26,000 customers in over 80 countries. He took the company public on NASDAQ in September 1994, making it the first French software company listed in the United States. Prior to Business Objects, Liautaud served as a marketing manager for Oracle Corp. in France.
