Murphy previously served as vice president-corporate compliance for the company. In his new position, Murphy is responsible for corporate compliance for the company's hotel and gaming divisions and is the corporate liaison between all gaming regulatory agencies and the corporation. He reports to Stephen F. Bollenbach, president and chief executive officer. Since 1991, Murphy had been affiliated with Bally Entertainment Corp., where he held several positions, including chief of staff for the chairman of the board and vice president-corporate affairs and government relations, as well as senior vice president of the Bally Entertainment Co. subsidiary, Health and Tennis Corporation of America. Prior to joining Bally, Murphy served with the Federal Bureau of Investigation Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), division of the U.S. Dept. of Justice charged with investigating all violations of federal laws except those assigned to some other federal agency. for 20 years. As a special agent, he was assigned to investigative duties in Albany, N.Y., and Boston before being assigned to supervise civil litigation An action brought in court to enforce a particular right.
