Berlusconi to reach Italians abroad.


The next task on Silvio Berlusconi's agenda is reaching Italian viewers outside Italy Italy (ĭt`əlē), Ital. Italia, officially Italian Republic, republic (2005 est. pop. 58,103,000), 116,303 sq mi (301,225 sq km), S Europe. . To this end, the Italian media tycoon and former prime minister has developed Canale Canale can refer to:
  • Canale (CN), an Italian town in Piedmont
  • Canale d'Agordo, an Italian town in the Veneto
  • Canale Monterano, an Italian town in Lazio
  • Canale, a subdivision of the Italian comune Pergine Valsugana
  • Canale (surname), An Italian surname.
 Italia, scheduled to begin operation at the end of this month.

 Vittorio Hemsi, the coordinator of Canale Italia's sales and operations inside Mediaset Mediaset is an Italian commercial television network with headquarters in Milan, Lombardy. The network was founded by Silvio Berlusconi, but today it is controlled by his family through Fininvest which has as major shareholder Silvio Berlusconi himself.  (Italy's private TV group), this ad-supported satellite service will consist of 16 programming hours per day, of which eight hours will be original programming and the rest will be repeats.
