Berlitz Publishing and SoftKey International sign exclusive distribution agreement.


PRINCETON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 23, 1996--Berlitz International Inc. announced that its subsidiary, Berlitz Publishing Co. Inc. has signed an agreement giving SoftKey International exclusive rights to develop and distribute Berlitz foreign language CD-Rom and similar software products in the U.S. and Canada.

SoftKey has the non-exclusive right to distribute products internationally.

Berlitz has been working with The Learning Company, a subsidiary of SoftKey, for five years to produce the Think & Talk(R) series of foreign language software products. This product combines the best of Berlitz's world-famous language teaching expertise with The Learning Company's sophisticated computer technologies.  by viewing and listening to native speakers in real life situations. The latest version of the software even includes speech recognition which allows the program to understand and evaluate the user's pronunciation. The Think & Talk(R) CD-Rom product is available in Spanish, French, German and Italian.
