), today announced the appointment of Todd S. Brown to the position of vice president, underwriting. Berkley Medical Excess Underwriters specializes in medical malpractice liability coverage written on behalf of W. R. Berkley Corporation's affiliates, Admiral Insurance Company and Berkley Insurance Company. The appointment is effective January 1, 2004.

Mr. Brown, 40, was most recently regional underwriting director for Berkley Medical's Western region, and has over 17 years of experience in the professional liability industry. He received his B.S. in Accounting and Corporate Finance from Drake University.
