Berkeley Systems announces OEM deal with Apple Computer, Inc.


BERKELEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 27, 1995--Berkeley Systems, Inc. today announced plans to bundle its personal information manager, Expresso Calendar and Address Book, with the Performa System by Apple Computer, Inc.

Expresso is a desktop productivity system that provides instant access, full function, and high quality graphics, by combining the familiar, easy-to-use features of the most popular paper and pencil organizers with the power of the personal computer. Expresso will be preinstalled on Apple's Performa System through December of 1995.

"Berkeley Systems' Expresso Calendar and Address Book is designed to make life easier," stated Shannon Foster, Berkeley's Director of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  Sales.
