Beringer Wines Top Two Popularity Polls.ST. HELENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 25, 1998--The wine-drinking public has ranked wines from Napa Valley's historic Beringer Vineyards at the top in two recent surveys. Respondents named Beringer "the winery that makes the best Chardonnay in California" in a Readers' Choice poll conducted by Wine Spectator Wine Spectator is a lifestyle magazine that focuses on wine. Founded as a newsprint tabloid by Bob Morrisey in 1976, it was purchased three years later by publisher Marvin R. Shanken. In 2005, paid circulation was over 382,000 and the magazine reached an estimated 2. magazine last March and reported in its June 30 issue.
