Beringer Vineyards Only Winery Named ''Winery of the Year'' Four Times in Six Months; Continuing a Stunning Streak, Bon Appetit Joins Prestigious Line-up of Awards.

In an unsurpassed winning streak, Beringer Vineyards, Napa Valley's oldest continuously operating winery, was named "San Francisco International Wine Competition Bon Appetit Magazine Winery of the Year" on June 25. This award, which acknowledges the winery earning the most points at the world's largest wine competition, makes Beringer the only winery to have won four "Winery of the Year" honors in six months from some of America's most prestigious food and wine publications. It follows on the heels of Beringer receiving Wine Enthusiast Magazine's "American Winery of the Year," Wine & Spirits Magazine's "Multi-Source American Winery of the Year," and the Robb Report's "Best of the Best Domestic Estate."

"Beringer has a long history of making wines of the very highest quality and while it is a pleasure to award them Bon Appetit's Winery of the Year, it comes as no surprise," commented Anthony Dias Blue, managing director of the San Francisco International Wine Competition and wine & spirits editor for Bon Appetit Magazine.

In 2001, Beringer celebrated its 125th year in the Napa Valley and Sbragia celebrated his 25th anniversary at the winery. Founded in 1876 by brothers Frederick and Jacob Beringer, who began the pursuit of quality through innovation by tunneling temperature-controlled wine storage caves into the mountain behind the winery, Beringer Vineyards consistently strives to provide excellence across a wide range of varietals and prices.
