Bergen Brunswig Corporation (NYSE: BBC) and Cyclone Commerce, Inc. today announced that Bergen has selected the Cyclone Interchange(TM) Trading Engine to facilitate Bergen's Internet-based business-to-business (B2B) initiatives -- a partnership that will introduce significant savings and operational efficiencies across its supplier value chain.

Utilizing leading eBusiness community development and secure data transport technologies from Cyclone Commerce, Inc., Bergen will bring selected suppliers into an on-line trading environment that will extend to include many of its supply partners. As key manufacturers are brought into this Internet trading environment, Bergen expects to reduce operating costs, improve business efficiencies, and allow partner companies greater opportunity for Internet-based business communication.

Prior to the Cyclone implementation, some of Bergen Brunswig's operating subsidiaries used a combination of Value Added Networks (VANs) and direct connections for its trading community, which was transaction fee-based and included mostly slow-speed dial-up connections. Bergen estimates that moving manufacturers' business communication off the VAN and securely onto the Internet will result in significant monthly savings for Bergen as well as its trading partners.
