Bentley's GEOPAK User Conference Underway in St. Louis.

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 23, 2002

Bentley Systems, Incorporated today announced that the Bentley GEOPAK(R)Summer 2002 Users Conference is underway at the Hyatt Union Station in St. Louis.

Some 400 attendees are participating, representing 14 government agencies and 239 companies from 27 U.S. states and 6 countries. The conference runs through July 24.

In the opening keynote, Norona emphasized the V8 Generation, explaining how Bentley applications create, manage and publish content in the civil engineering and transportation industries.

Product keynotes were delivered by Tom Anderson, senior vice president of product marketing at Bentley, and Dean Bowman, director of development for Bentley Civil. Anderson demonstrated digital signatures and digital rights for DGN files.

Digital signatures and digital rights let intellectual-property owners specify how much of a drawing or model can be accessed by clients, partners and others involved in a project -- and for how long. Bowman discussed technical enhancements to GEOPAK products and interoperability with other software including AASHTO(R)'s Trns*port software developed by InfoTech.

GEOPAK for MicroStation V8, to be commercially available late third quarter this year, and other new Bentley civil solutions are being demonstrated at the conference.

User highlights during the first day of the conference included a presentation by Pam Pierce, P.E., HDR, on the Hoover Dam Bypass: "Design Successes with GEOPAK," and one by Mary Conway of Beiswenger, Hoch & Associates on the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport Interchange.
