Benson Rosen and Hal Berman join Harris & Jeffries.

Software company continues rapid growth, adds new positions

Harris & Jeffries, Inc. (H&J) announced today the appointments of Benson Rosen to the new position of Director of Sales Support and Hal Z. Berman to the new position of Product Line Manager.

Benson Rosen joins H&J after nine years with Bay Networks. He joined Bay Networks (then Welfleet Communications) in 1987 initially as a Customer Support Manager and then became Director of Systems Engineering. Most recently he was Director of Professional Services at Bay Networks, which grew to become a large network design and operations consultancy, a unique service offering from a network equipment supplier. Prior to joining Welfleet, Mr. Rosen worked for Motorola (Codex) from 1979 to 1987.

As director of sales support for H&J, Mr. Rosen will manage the Sales Engineering staff, provide technical assistance to H&J's sales force, and help to determine the requirements of H&J customers. He will also assist in the development of customer training programs. Mr. Rosen reports to Robert A. Zockoff, H&J's vice president of sales.

Mr. Rosen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a minor in Economics, both from the University of Rhode Island. He lives in Sharon, MA. with his wife and three children.

Hal Z. Berman joins H&J from Digital Equipment Corporation, where spent 18 years, initially as a Technical Support Manager and then Technical Marketing Manager across multiple market business units. Mr. Berman went on to become a Business Manager in the Software Distribution business unit and later in the Enterprise Desktop Software business unit. Mr. Berman was most recently Business Development Manager for a new business unit focused on RISC and Pentium-based products for the OEM market. Prior to joining Digital, Mr. Berman held technical positions with Unisys, RCA and Harvard Medical School.

In the new position of senior product line manager, Mr. Berman will help to identify potential opportunities of new products for development. He will manage new product development, assist in product marketing and contribute to H&J's overall product strategy. Mr. Berman will report to Christopher Berluti, H&J's director of marketing.

Mr. Berman holds a BS in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh, a Masters of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a Masters of Business Administration from Boston College.
