Bennett Environmental announces change of year end.


VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 24, 1996-- Bennett Environmental Bennett Environmental TSX: BEV AMEX: BEL is a Canadian company based in Oakville, Ontario. It specializes in the recovering of soils contaminated with chlorinated hydrocarbons, including PCB's and PCP's, Dioxins and Furans.  Inc. (ME:BEV) (BEV) is pleased to announce its intentions to change the Company's financial year end.

The change is being made to coincide with the year end of the natural business cycle of the Company. The last year end was September 30, 1995. The Company will have a 15 month transitional period ending December 31, 1996. The new year end will be the twelve months ending December 31.

The Company is engaged in the operation, development and manufacture of thermal waste destruction technology and equipment for the remediation of waste hydrocarbons and hazardous chemicals.

The Company opened the first plant in St. Ambroise, Quebec on September 13, 1996. Bennett's proprietary thermal oxidation In microfabrication, thermal oxidation is a way to produce a thin layer of oxide (usually silicon dioxide) on the surface of a wafer (semiconductor). The technique forces an oxidizing agent to diffuse into the wafer at high temperature and react with it.  technology has been approved by the Ministry of the Environment in Quebec and Alberta, British Columbia British Columbia, province (2001 pop. 3,907,738), 366,255 sq mi (948,600 sq km), including 6,976 sq mi (18,068 sq km) of water surface, W Canada.
