Benjamin J. Trosky promoted to managing director at Pacific Investment Management, two named EVPs and four promoted to SVP.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 4, 1996--Benjamin J. Trosky has been promoted to managing director of Pacific Investment Management Company, one of the nation's largest fixed-income managers with more than $76 billion in assets under management.

The firm also named R. Wesley Burns and Lee R. Thomas, III, as executive vice presidents and Douglas M. Hodge, Edward P. Rennie, Ernest L. Schmider and Leland T. Scholey as senior vice presidents.

Trosky, 36, heads the firm's credit research department and manages the $550 million PIMCO High-Yield Fund, an institutional fund rated five stars by Morningstar. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Trosky joined Pacific Investment in 1990. He worked previously with Merrill Lynch Asset Management for 10 years as co-manager of high yield mutual funds.

Burns, 36, heads the operations area of Pacific Investment's pooled funds group with more than $26 billion of assets under management in 71 fixed-income and equity institutional mutual funds. He also serves as president of PIMCO Funds and PIMCO Commercial Mortgage Securities Trust Inc. Burns, who joined the firm in 1987, previously was with General Dynamics Corp. as a contract negotiator.

Thomas, 44, is a portfolio manager specializing in international fixed income and foreign exchange investments. He joined the firm in 1995 following six years with Investcorp, where he managed global securities and foreign exchange trading and with Goldman Sachs where he served as executive director of fixed income in London.

Hodge, a Chartered Financial Analyst, specializes in account management and international marketing. He joined the firm in 1989 after five years with Salomon Bros. in New York and London. A member of the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts, he is 38.

Rennie, 59, joined the firm in account management and new product development five years ago after 35 years with the Bell System, including eight years as executive director, trust investments, of Bell Atlantic's $14 billion benefit plans. A Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Financial Planner and Registered Professional Engineer, he is a member of the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts and the International Association of Financial Planners.

Schmider, 38, joined the firm in 1994 and is its chief administrative and legal officer. He was previously a partner with Latham & Watkins in San Francisco, specializing in corporations, taxation and partnerships. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the California Bar Association.

Scholey, 43, joined the firm in 1983 and specializes in account management. His 20 years of investment experience includes portfolio manager of fixed income and equity securities with The Boston Company, First Interstate Investment Advisors and Merrill Lynch. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of The Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts.
