Benjamin Calkins of Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff appointed to American and Ohio State Bar Association International Committees.


CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 29, 1995--Benjamin Calkins of the law firm of Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff has been appointed to the Ohio State Bar Association's International Law Committee and the International Business Law Committee of the American Bar Association American Bar Association (ABA), voluntary organization of lawyers admitted to the bar of any state. Founded (1878) largely through the efforts of the Connecticut Bar Association, it is devoted to improving the administration of justice, seeking uniformity of law  Section of Business Law.

Calkins is a partner in the firm's Cleveland office and a member of its Corporate and Securities Practice Group. His practice includes an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, public and private financing, venture capital transactions, joint ventures and international matters. He is the firm's representative to TerraLex, an international network of over 4,800 attorneys from 90 law firms in 65 countries.

He is vice president and membership director of the Greater Cleveland International Lawyers Group and active in the Cleveland World Trade Association. He formerly held a position on the adjunct faculty of the University of Michigan Law School The University of Michigan Law School, located in Ann Arbor, is a unit of the University of Michigan. The Law School, founded in 1859, currently has an enrollment of approximately 1,200 students, most of whom are earning the degrees of Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Master of Laws (LLM). .
