Watson Wyatt is initially using Actuate to distribute formatted statements detailing pensions, benefits and compensation status to its own employees via the web, eliminating the need for vast amounts of printed documentation. The new system is scalable enough to support hundreds of thousands of users and will offer quicker access to the full range of Watson Wyatt products.

Watson Wyatt chose Actuate e.Reporting Suite 5.0, the latest version of Actuate's Information Delivery platform, to deliver information to its clients, as well as its own 2000 European employees. Actuate was chosen as the company's Information Delivery platform due to its ease of use and because it requires no formal end-user training.

HR tasks such as administrating pensions and benefits are typically highly paper-intensive. With Actuate, Watson Wyatt will not only reduce reliance on paper documents, but will also deliver improved customer service. Users have a single log in to view Watson Wyatt-branded reports, served up by Actuate's e.Reporting Server on demand. Alternatively, e-mail alerts can be used to automatically notify users when new information is available, delivering web links to quickly take users to the relevant reports. Security at the individual user level for each page ensures that end users can easily view personal information in confidence.

Melvin Brandman, head of IS and a partner at Watson Wyatt, said: "The Actuate implementation is allowing us to operate much more efficiently. After the success of implementing Actuate's e.Reporting Suite in-house for automating benefits reporting, we have rolled out the service to our European client base. Actuate will benefit Watson Wyatt's customer offering enormously, ultimately saving time in reporting processes."

Alan Hamilton, managing director of Actuate UK, commented: "Actuate is uniquely able to offer scalability of up to hundreds of thousands of users, and also to provide profiled benefits statements in a clear and personalized format. Worldwide, we are seeing strong demand for online information delivery in the personal benefits sector, and Watson Wyatt is the first large provider to offer such a service in the UK using Actuate technology."

The Actuate e.Reporting Suite is a native web solution that requires no end user training. It supports multiple output formats including DHTML See Dynamic HTML.
