Even if you can't take in yet another homeless dog or cat, you don't need to feel guilty: This week will be Wine-Styles of Eugene's third annual benefit to raise awareness about 11 nonprofit organizations in the Eugene-Springfield area that provide services to the four-footers. The weeklong event includes a pet-food drive with FOOD for Lane County to collect dog and cat food to help homeless families staying in shelters feed their pets.

Each day this week, WineStyles will feature two organizations, with educational materials, demonstrations, fundraising - and entertainment and wine tasting Noun 1. wine tasting - a gathering of people to taste and compare different wines

. The south Eugene business in the Woodfield Station shopping center shopping center, a concentration of retail, service, and entertainment enterprises designed to serve the surrounding region. The modern shopping center differs from its antecedents—bazaars and marketplaces—in that the shops are usually amalgamated into  at 29th Avenue and Willamette Street will split 10 percent of all sales during the week among the featured organizations, as well as half of the proceeds collected from its animal-themed wine tastings.

In addition, a wall of photos of adoptable animals will be displayed during the week in the courtyard next to the nearby Radio Shack See RadioShack.  electronics store.

Local animal welfare agencies say that even family pets - and the organizations dedicated to looking out for them - are affected by the current economic downturn, with many people forced to give up their pets as they lose jobs and housing.

, a WineStyles co-owner, said in a news release announcing the fundraising event. "For those of us who can afford to help, this is a time when rescue organizations and other nonprofits need our support the most."

In addition to all the other activities during the week, WineStyles will give one of its T-shirts to everyone who donates $10 for pet food or brings $10 worth of pet food to the food drive.

WineStyles will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.
