) today voted a second-quarter common stock dividend of $0.52 per share to stockholders of record at the close of business June 2 and payable June 30, 1997. The annual dividend rate is $2.08 per share.

The vote marks Beneficial's 272nd consecutive quarterly dividend. The company has paid cash dividends without interruption since 1929. The board also declared the regular semi-annual dividend of $2.25 per share on the $4.50 Dividend Cumulative Preferred Stock Cumulative preferred stock
