Bendata and Asset Software International Team to Provide Asset Management Tools for the Workgroup Market.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. and OTTAWA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 7, 1997--Bendata Inc., makers of HEAT(TM), and Asset Software International (ASI), creators of AssetPRO(TM), have announced a partnership to create HEAT Workgroup Asset Manager(TM). HEAT Workgroup Asset Manager(TM) is an add-on module which will provide internal and external help desks with a tool to capture information on their customers' assets and manage those assets from a cost of ownership perspective.

This agreement with ASI will make HEAT the most comprehensive help desk software on the market. No other vendor provides this level of Asset Management functionality.

HEAT Workgroup Asset Manager includes:

-- a data collection module that polls PCs for their hardware and software configuration (including processor type, system files, hardrive size, RAM and disk space);

-- a series of screens displaying financial information (including costs, purchasing, adjustments, repairs, service contracts, and lease information);

-- AssetRADAR, a software usage measurement application which resides locally on the client and invisibly monitors how much time the user spends in each Windows application;

-- a tree structure view displaying asset information (including location, users, inter-relationships between assets and users, and asset status);

-- graphing capabilities and reports (including number of assets by category, software usage, repair costs, service contracts and warranty expiration dates, and custom reports).

HEAT Workgroup Asset Manager will allow the help desk to import both hardware and software information into the HEAT call ticket. It will give help desk technicians the power to see a client's current configuration giving them an advantage in the problem resolution process. The information provided by HEAT Workgroup Asset Manager can be used by help desk personnel to help make informed business decisions regarding company assets, including upgrades as well as moves, adds, and changes. It can also be used to enforce equipment standards, minimizing the risk of software conflicts and allowing technicians to develop an expertise on standard equipment. It is a vital tool in helping to lower cost of ownership.

HEAT Workgroup Asset Manager is a 32 bit application which runs on Windows 95, Windows NT 3.51 or NT 4.0. HEAT Workgroup Asset Manager will run with HEAT version 3.51 and later.

HEAT Workgroup Asset Manager is scheduled for release summer 1997.
