Bend music festival tickets go on sale soon.

Cuban, French and American musicians will be featured during this year's Cascade Festival of Music in Bend.

The festival will open Aug. 23 and continue through Labor Day Labor Day, holiday celebrated in the United States and Canada on the first Monday in September to honor the laborer. It was inaugurated by the Knights of Labor in 1882 and made a national holiday by the U.S. Congress in 1894.  weekend in Drake Park.

Caitlin Tully, a 15-year old violin prodigy, will play the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto A violin concerto is a concerto for solo violin (occasionally, two or more violins) and instrumental ensemble, customarily orchestra. Such works have been written from the Baroque period, when the solo concerto form was first developed, up through the present day.  with the festival orchestra on Aug. 25. A young people's concert on Aug. 26 will feature young local pianists Adam Bratton and Melissa Davis in a two-piano J.S. Bach concerto.

Festival tickets are available to donors now; general ticket sales will begin June 16. Prices range from $15 to $33. Student and senior discounts are available.
