Benazir Bhutto airport to be completed in 2012 : Senate told.ISLAMABAD, October 14, 2009 (Balochistan Times): Minister for Defence Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar Mukhtar, meaning "chosen" in Arabic, refers to the head of a village or mahalle (urban district) in many Arab countries. The name refers to the fact that mukhtars are usually selected by some consensual or participatory method, often involving an election. on Wednesday apprised the Upper House in the Parliament that the construction work of Benazir Bhutto Benazir Bhutto (Urdu: بینظیر بھٹو, IPA: [bɛnɜziɽ botɔ] International Airport Islamabad was being carried out under various work packages and the projects would be completed in 2012. In response to various questions during question hour session, he said there were total 43 airports in the country out of which 10 have been closed down due to insufficient traffic load. The Minister said Pakistan International Airlines Pakistan International Airlines Corporation, more commonly known as Pakistan International Airlines or PIA (Urdu: پی آئی اے يا پاکستان suffered Rs 39 billion loss during the period of January 1, to December 31, 2008. He said an amount of Rs 7.5 billion was estimated for the construction of Gwadar airport. The federal government had released Rs 1503.74 million for acquiring land for the airport, he added. He said past government purchased small aircraft in order to run flights to small cities. The minister said the pilot has been suspended who landed PIA pi·a n. into the matter, he added.
