BenQ to become China's no. 1 projector brand in 2009.Taipei, Oct. 21, 2009 (CENS)--BenQ Corp. is expected to become China's No. 1 projector brand with sales expected to reach 90,000 units this year, with its share in China's projector market to reach over 15% in the fourth quarter of this year. BenQ's outstanding performance will benefit domestic contract manufacturers as Qisda Corp., Delta Electronics Corp. and Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. BenQ China president H.C. Hong said his company sold 26,000 projectors in China in the third quarter of this year, despite the insufficient supply of DLP chips. The company aims sell 30,000 projectors in the fourth quarter of this year, and will likely sell 80,000 projectors in China in 2009. Hong believes China will consume one million projectors this year, up 20% from last year's 800,000, with the market dominated by medium- and low-tier models. By cooperating with RT-Mart, one of China's leading wholesalers, BenQ sold 1,500 projectors in eastern China during the national holidays in the beginning of October, equaling that sold during August and September. |
