BenQ announced two of its display products were named Honorees for the Innovations 2004 Design and Engineering Showcase by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA CEA carcinoembryonic antigen.

). The FP783 17-inch LCD monitor and Q150 15-inch LCD TV were honored in the Computer Hardware and Video categories, respectively. These two products will be showcased at both the BenQ booth and the Innovations booth at the 2004 Consumer Electronics Show, January 8-11, 2004, in Las Vegas.

CEA, the producer of the International Consumer Electronics Show, highlights the most innovative products in 21 categories for the 2004 Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase. Products are judged by a panel of prominent industry designers, engineers, and journalists on criteria including user value, aesthetics, contribution to quality of life, and innovative qualities.

With a brightness of 300 nits, 500:1 contrast ratio, 1280 x 1024 resolution, and a 16.2 million-color palette, the FP783 offers amazingly clear and sharp picture quality. The FP783 incorporates D-Sub and DVI (1) (Digital Video Interactive) An earlier compression technique that provided up to 72 minutes of full-screen video on a CD-ROM. Q150 LCD TV

The BenQ Q150 is a 15-inch, HDTV-compatible LCD TV that features a built-in TV tuner handle, speakers, and subwoofer A speaker that reproduces the lower end of the audio spectrum. A subwoofer system may include a crossover circuit which switches frequencies at approximately 100Hz and under to the subwoofer, while passing the rest of the signal to the main speakers. , as well as De-Interlacing and 3D Edge Filtering functions. With a 4:3 aspect ratio, a contrast ratio of 500:1, and a brightness of 450 nits, the BenQ Q150 LCD TV delivers the functionality and flexibility to operate in various environments. It has a native resolution of 1024 x 768, and is compatible with NTSC (National TV Standards Committee) The committee that developed the television standards for the U.S, which are also used in Canada, Japan, South Korea and several Central and South American countries. Both the committee and the standard are called "NTSC. , PAL, and SECAM (SEquential Couleur Avec Memoire, Sequential Color with Memory) A color TV standard from France that was officially introduced in 1967. Although development began in 1956, it took time to convert from the earlier French 819-line system.  video applications.
