"As The Ladle is being built on the site of a former public house, the play equipment from the old beer garden would have been thrown away. We are pleased it's gone to such a good home and put smiles on the children's faces, particularly as it's in such good condition and still has plenty of years more enjoyment in it." Marton Manor headteacher Gerri Howard said: "Like many schools, we have a very strict budget and simply couldn't afford to buy new play equipment to put on the playing field. "Bellway's generous gesture means the children get the play area they long for and we can still use our budget to buy essential teaching materials." Two-bedroom apartments and five-bedroom family homes are being constructed at The Ladle and the development will feature around 58 properties. The Ladle is well positioned for easy access into Middlesbrough town centre. Tel: (01642) 313-497. |
