Bellotti believes spread offense still perfect fit for Ducks.

This position aids the head coach by designing and scripting plays, delegating work to offensive position coaches during  Gary Crowton Gary Crowton (born June 14 1957 in Provo, Utah, United States) is an American Football coach. He is currently the offensive coordinator at Louisiana State University. Crowton graduated from Orem High School in 1975 and went on to earn a B.S.  through a spokesman Tuesday, and most notably indicated that the coaching change won't lead to a scheme change.

"Each year we strive to adapt our offensive style to the talent we have at hand," Bellotti said in statements released Tuesday. "The type of athletes we have recruited and are currently recruiting are best suited for the spread offense that we will continue to utilize."

Crowton confirmed Monday that he has agreed to leave Oregon for Louisiana State. He was expected to arrive in Baton Rouge Baton Rouge (băt`ən rzh) [Fr.,=red stick], city (1990 pop. 219,531), state capital and seat of East Baton Rouge parish, SE La.  on Tuesday, with his formal introduction to be held at a news conference today.

Crowton served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach with the Ducks for two seasons, during which the team finished among the national leaders in total offense each year.

"We appreciate what Gary contributed to our success and wish him and his family the best of luck," Bellotti said. "He brought a great deal of enthusiasm with him to work every day. At the same time, we will move forward and strive to bring in the best offensive coordinator and the best quarterbacks coach in the nation as we continually look to set the bar nationally."

Crowton had indicated in December that he planned to be with Oregon next season, but he said Monday that LSU LSU Louisiana State University

 presented a rare opportunity, including a chance to work with Tigers coach Les Miles Les Miles (born November 10, 1953 in Elyria, Ohio) is an American college football coach and the current head coach of the LSU Tigers. Prior to holding that position, he was head coach at Oklahoma State. . Crowton has worked previously in that state, at Louisiana Tech, and his salary is expected to exceed that which he received at Oregon.

"It's flattering to have your peers think enough of what we've accomplished that they become interested in tapping into our resources," Bellotti said. "But at the same time, our success is going to continue to create other opportunities for our assistants. That's a credit to our entire staff."

Bellotti is travelling throughout this week for recruiting, which wraps up on Feb. 7, the first day high school seniors can sign national letters of intent.
