Bellhaven Copper & Gold Announces a Change in Management.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Bellhaven Copper & Gold Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BHV) ("Bellhaven" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the immediate appointment of Mr. Julio Benedetti to the role of President and CEO in addition to his current role as Director and Vice-President of Business Development.

Mr. Carl Nelson, who has served as CEO and President for the last three years may remain an employee of the company until such time as an efficient and smooth transition of duties has been achieved, but no later than January 14, 2007 Co the expiry date of Carl's current employment contract.

Larry Abraham, Chairman of the Board of Directors, has this to say of Mr. Benedetti's appointment, " Considering recent events, including the acquisition of Cerro Chorcha (Bellhaven's flagship property and the third largest porphyry copper deposit in Panama) the board feels it appropriate to shift focus in order to concentrate on making the necessary alliances to develop this and other targets in the Bellhaven property portfolio in a timely manner. This means a greater emphasis on joint venturesCoand Julio's track record in this regard speaks for itself. No one has negotiated, signed and managed more mineral development deals in Panama than Julio Benedetti. I am confident that he will propel Bellhaven Copper and Gold on a path of aggressive mineral development."

Mr. Benedetti, an alumnus of the University of Colorado and the Colorado School of Mines, has been a central figure in the mining industry of Panama since the early 1980's. Mr. Benedetti has been the President and owner of Transworld Exploration, S.A.Coa privately held mineral exploration company which owns the Remance Gold Mine in Panama. He is a Director and Officer (and also a former President) of Minera Cerro QuemaCoa company which is 60% owned by Glencairn Gold Corp. Since 2000, he has been the Administrator of Minera Petaquilla, S.A., a consortium of TeckCominco, Imet Mining and Petaquilla Minerals Ltd. Minera Petaquilla controls the Petaquilla Copper Project (1.4 billion tons of 0.47% Cu). Julio also was a Director and past President of Cabo Mining Enterprises Corp. (currently Cabo Drilling Corp.).
