Bellcore opens Tokyo sales office.


TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 19, 1996--Bellcore, a leading provider of global communications software (communications, software) communications software - Application programs, operating system components, and probably firmware, forming part of a communication system. These different software components might be classified according to the functions within the Open Systems  and consulting services, announced today that it has opened a sales office here. Local media are invited to an opening reception at Bellcore's newest sales facility tomorrow, Aug. 20.

In addition to using the Tokyo office to serve its current Japanese customers, Bellcore also seeks to expand its market presence here by obtaining additional contracts with new Japanese service providers, mainly the NCCs, said International's vice president and general manager for Asia Pacific, Steven Senderling. "Bellcore is delighted that it already has secured substantial business in Japan. Now we look forward to offering this same level of technical expertise and skills to Japan's developing deregulated market," said Senderling.

Bellcore's Tokyo office will be headed by Seiji Hashimoto, who came to Bellcore from Deutsche Telekom Deutsche Telekom AG (ISIN: DE0005557508, FWB: DTE, NYSE: DT, LSE: DEU, TYO: 9496 ) (abbreviated DTAG) is a telecommunications company headquartered in Bonn, Germany. It is the largest telecommunications company in Germany and in the EU.  as that company's director of sales for Japan. The office will be an adjunct to Bellcore's Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong Hong Kong (hŏng kŏng), Mandarin Xianggang, special administrative region of China, formerly a British crown colony (2005 est. pop. 6,899,000), land area 422 sq mi (1,092 sq km), adjacent to Guangdong prov. . Bellcore has another Asia-Pacific adjunct sales office in Melbourne, Australia.

Hashimoto noted that Bellcore is uniquely qualified to provide its Japanese customers with leading-edge information technology solutions.
