Bellcore announces intention to work with Sun, Netscape to offer Web-based consulting, products and training.


BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 1995--Bellcore announced today they will explore joint opportunities for Web-based products, services, technology and training for Internet and World Wide Web solutions with Sun Microsystems Sun Microsystems, Inc. Under separate Statements of Principle signed by Bellcore with Sun and Netscape, Bellcore announced its intention to combine its expertise with that of Sun and Netscape, and to explore new business opportunities.

In the Statement of Principle signed by Bellcore with Sun, the two companies signal their intention that Bellcore will become a member of Sun's Independent Software Vendor program. Such membership would give Bellcore advance access to new software technologies. In addition, Sun indicates its willingness to establish Bellcore as an Object Reality Center and create a technology showcase at Bellcore. Sun may also use Bellcore as a subcontractor One who takes a portion of a contract from the principal contractor or from another subcontractor.
