Bellcore Receives ITAA*2000 Certification.


ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 27, 1997--The Information Technology Association of America See ITAA.  (ITAA (Information Technology Association of America, Arlington, VA, www.itaa.org) Formerly the Association of Data Processing Service Organizations (ADAPSO). A membership organization founded in 1960 that defines performance standards, improves management methods and monitors government ) today announced that Bellcore, Morristown, NJ, has received ITAA*2000 certification. ITAA*2000 is the industry's century date change certification program. The program examines processes and methods used by companies to perform their Year 2000 software conversions.

Bellcore, a world leader in the development and deployment of mission-critical software, participated in a rigorous evaluation of its approach to date conversion, with extensive analysis in eleven discrete process areas deemed necessary to a successful Year 2000 conversion. Bellcore offers a methodology for performing Year 2000 software conversions. Certification indicates that Bellcore has the core capabilities needed to address the Year 2000 challenge.

ITAA is the IT industry's leading trade group on the Year 2000 software conversion issue. The ITAA Year 2000 Task Force conducts a full program of Year 2000-related activities, all aimed at helping customers in government and the private sector respond quickly and effectively to the software conversion challenge.
