AUSTIN, Texas -- New Retail Solution Speeds Burger King Customers Through the Counter Line and Provides Increased System Reliability

Wincor Nixdorf, one of the world's leading suppliers of IT solutions for the banking and retail industries, today announced that Bella Rosa Foods LTD LTD 1 Laron-type dwarfism 2 Leukotriene D 3 Long-term depression, see there 4. Long-term disability  has installed BEETLE(R) /iPOS point-of-sale systems at the company's Burger King restaurant in Lowell, Mass. The BEETLE /iPOS systems running Geac's SmartSeries QSR software help put the "fast" in fast-food dining with increased speed and efficiency at order terminals and drive-through lanes, helping customers move through lines much more quickly. Pop-up windows guide the operator through the ordering process, reducing training time and improving order accuracy, and an auto price function recognizes when a customer has ordered items in a combo meal. Disk mirroring allows real-time system backup and improved reliability, providing managers with consistently reliable data.

The first flat panels appeared on laptop computers in the mid-1980s, and the LCD technology became the standard. Stand-alone LCD screens became available for desktop computers in the mid-1990s and exceeded sales of CRTs for the first time . The splashproof housing of the BEETLE /iPOS and the ruggedized, retail-hardened design easily withstands the adverse conditions associated with most retail environments. The open architecture has allowed Bella Rosa Foods to add new peripherals, such as an integrated credit card reader, that streamline restaurant operations.

"The BEETLE /iPOS systems allow our cashiers to perform advanced POS functions that were not possible with the old hardware, and we've been able to streamline our operating efficiencies as a result," said Jack DiTillio, owner of Bella Rosa. "We are very pleased with the new solution from Wincor Nixdorf and Geac."

"SmartSeries delivers to quick service all the mature functionality of the FasFax brand of Geac's QSR software within a thin-client Windows based architecture. By utilizing Windows Xpe Geac is consistent with Microsoft's "Smarter Retailing" initiative which enables a highly functional point-of-sale at a low cost of ownership," said David Poole, General Manager of Geac's Restaurant Systems Division. "When coupled with SmartSeries electronic payment and mobile alternatives, comprehensive back office, Enterprise-wide database management and web-based centralized reporting, Geac continues its tradition of serving the Burger King brand with innovative and economical open system solutions."

Geac's QSR software features Web access and database maintenance. Information captured in the SmartSeries database can be collected and dissected into small amounts of data for marketing purposes. Utilizing an SQL SQL

data warehouse allows for the collection, retention and analysis of multi-store operational data. The software allows the corporate office or remote management user to access financial data locally, or over the web, for a segment or all stores in a variety of ways. The POS systems also include a disk monitoring function that backs up the system in real-time, eliminating a single point of failure.

"Customers expect fast, quality service at Burger King restaurants, and the new POS solution will help Bella Rosa Foods deliver a superior customer experience at their Lowell location," said Jeff Soisson, president of Wincor Nixdorf USA. "Wincor Nixdorf's BEETLE /iPOS and Geac's QSR software is the ideal combo for Burger King."
