BellSouth selects CableData's Intelecable for interactive television trial; CableData's convergence technologies group named to BellSouth Interactive Media Services team.

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 20, 1995-- CableData, the leader in subscriber management and billing support systems for the cable television market, Monday announced that CableData's Intelecable system has been selected by BellSouth as the operational support system for its interactive television trial in Atlanta, and that CableData's Convergence Technologies Group will join the BellSouth Interactive Media Services (BIMS) team.

BellSouth will rely on the Intelecable system to support virtually every aspect of the BIMS operation, including order processing, collections, charging and billing, field communications, marketing and financial reporting.

In addition, the Intelecable system will support services such as Video On Demand, video games, home shopping and personal computer services during the trial. CableData's new Convergence Technologies Group will assist the BIMS team in integrating Intelecable with interactive multimedia products from Hewlett-Packard, Scientific Atlanta and other partners in the trial.
