Telephone customers in three Atlanta-area communities are being offered a range of integrated voice and fax messaging and information services See Information Systems.  in the market trial, which follows a successful technical trial of the same equipment and services that began in October 1995.

Trial customers may choose from an integrated set of enhancements to the basic "MemoryCall" Call Answering and Voice Messaging services BellSouth has been providing successfully for six years. The enhancements include Message Delivery, Information Delivery, and Integrated Voice/Fax. Message Delivery allows subscribers to send voice messages, not only to another subscriber's mailbox, but also to any telephone number or list of numbers.

Information Delivery gives subscribers access to a wide variety of information updates automatically delivered to their mailboxes. Integrated Voice/Fax allows subscribers to receive faxes in the same mailbox that stores their voice messages. According to Joe Meyer, BellSouth Product Manager for Information Services, "The Atlanta trial will be the first time anywhere that these services have been combined, integrated, and offered together."

By providing the integration of voice mail, fax mail, message delivery and information delivery, this platform allows us to tailor solutions to meet our customers' needs very quickly.
