Bell Microproducts Opens New Distribution Center in Delaware; Facility Provides Full-Service Hub for Distributor's Growing Eastern Operations.

Bell Microproducts, Inc. (Nasdaq:BELM), a leading international value-added distributor of mass-storage products and electronic components, opened a new distribution center in New Castle, Delaware New Castle is a city in New Castle County, Delaware, six miles (10 km) south of Wilmington, situated on the Delaware River, at the head of Delaware Bay. In 1900, 3,380 people lived here; in 1910, 3,351. According to 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 4,836. .

The new 50,000 square-foot distribution hub significantly enhances Bell Microproducts' service levels to its eastern region, with next-day ground service to much of the company's expanding eastern OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and , VAR and integrator account base. An added benefit for Bell Microproducts' customers is the center's close proximity to a major UPS hub, which will improve air as well as ground shipping services.

Bell Microproducts successfully relocated its entire Philadelphia warehousing operation to the Delaware facility late in Q2 1999.
