Bell's 4 TD passes lift Marist.


Byline: The Register-Guard

Ryan Bell completed 20-of-29 passes for 338 yards and four touchdowns to lead host Marist to a 50-6 Sky-Em League prep football victory over Pleasant Hill on Friday. Bryson Black ran for 65 yards and a score, and Chad Swenson and Colton Thomas scored two TDs apiece for the Spartans (4-1).

Derek Smith connected with Zack Nelson for a 10-yard scoring pass for the Billies.

Junction City 41, La Pine 22: Joel Dunn gained 129 yards in 20 carries and scored twice, and Nathan Slocum scored on runs of eight and 57 yards, to lead the visiting Tigers.

Ty Slater completed 11-of-21 passes for 130 yards and two TDs and also scored on a one-yard run for the Hawks.

Sisters 46, Elmira 8: Cory McCaffrey carried 14 times for 209 yards and three TDs to lead the host Outlaws. Jarred Hasskamp passed for two TDs and Dominic Nieri scored twice as Sisters improved to 4-0 in league.

Brodie Davis completed 16 of 34 passes for 170 yards and also scored on a three-yard run for the Falcons.

Far West League

Siuslaw 34, Sutherlin 6: Jacob Mitchell completed 16-of-19 passes for 167 yards and three TDs, two of them going to Anthony Robinson, as the host Vikings (3-0) took sole possession of first place from the Bulldogs (2-1). Drew Rainwater caught nine passes for 99 yards and a score.

North Bend 55, Brookings 13: Shawn Mitchell, Alex Clark and Luke Clark scored two TDs apiece and Ethan Ottemiller threw two scoring passes to lead the host Bulldogs.

Douglas 34, South Umpqua 7: Andrew Neilsen scored two TDs to lead the visiting Trojans. Douglas had 334 yards, including 292 on the ground, total offense to the Lancers' 210.
