Belkin Wins Gold and Silver Horizon Interactive Awards 2005; Belkin's Training CD-ROMs ``Meet PureAV'' and ``callEverywhere -- Slamming Doors'' Nab High Honors in 4th Annual Competition.

COMPTON, Calif. -- Belkin Corporation, the global leader in connectivity solutions, has been honored for its excellence in interactive media production with a Horizon Interactive Gold Award for its CD-ROM "Meet PureAV(TM)" and a Silver Award for its CD-ROM "callEverywhere(TM) -- Slamming Doors" in the Education/Training category. Now in its fourth year, the Horizon Interactive Awards, a leading international interactive media awards competition, recognizes excellence in interactive media production among multimedia developers worldwide.

Retailers and resellers face immense challenges when training sales associates, including employee turnover, newly emerging complex technologies, and a proliferation of manufacturer training information. The launch of Belkin's callEverywhere Broadband Phone Service and PureAV products needed to address every one of these challenges, motivating Belkin's cross-functional teams to create these unique tools, both aimed at delivering educational and entertaining content.

Both training CDs integrate Flash character animation within the story lines, a technique not commonly used in training materials. A database features product specs and a glossary with more detailed information for easy reference. At the end of the presentation, viewers are met with an interactive quiz module.

The 2005 competition received hundreds of entries from 15 countries including: Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Japan, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and nearly all 50 US states. A panel of judges, who consisted of various industry professionals with diverse backgrounds, evaluated 11 different categories. The 2005 award-winning entries showcase the best-developed websites, CD-ROMs, DVDs, audio, video, kiosks, video games, and other interactive media.
